PEACEST 3P03 Credit Opportunity available with McMaster Water Network Student Chapter Placement Opportunity!
McMaster Water Network Student Chapter and MERIT Brewing Company have teamed up to offer 4 McMaster students (undergraduate or graduate) the opportunity to develop sustainable water-use strategies at MERIT’s popular recently-opened brewery on James St N. These internships will involve biweekly half-/full-day weekday sessions at MERIT, from October 2017-April 2018, when interns will gain first-hand knowledge and experience of the brewing process, assess water usage, and develop, implement, monitor and evaluate innovative strategies to reduce the environmental impact of beer manufacturing in Hamilton. A $150 stipend will be awarded to each intern to cover travel costs, including those associated with an organized ‘field trip’ to a larger-scale brewery with integrated processes that optimize water efficiency and minimize waste. Following the completion of the project, interns will write a brief report and present their work at a public event at MERIT in April 2018.
Application deadline: Sept 22 @ 5pm
Interested? Apply here! No experience required, but let us know of any relevant work/research skills you feel will prove valuable during the internship.
